when you are alone, listening to some music by yourself will most likely only means you are entertained, feeling accompanied and (to some extent) getting healed. but when you are with someone else, someone you really want to be with, someone who shares the same interests with you, you will also be… connected. in other words: music –not only nokia, to be sure –connecting people.
and that was exactly what happened last thursday when marillion’s neverland came out from the ipod playlist i set up in the car. it was a result of the shuffle mode i choose. i never really thought it would be its turns when we both were in the car. but it was real as she was hummingly sang along with hogarth:
stay beside me
whisper to me “here i am”
and the loneliness fades
the way hogarth sings the song, during the last part of its lyric in particular, always send me into goosebumps. with her there, following hogarth word by word in the chorus, my feeling of the sensation went higher. it was a precious moment….
